Most of my posts are pretty serious. I mean not serious serious, but they’re about serious stuff. You know. Things that I think matter. Like servant leadership. And accountability. And looking after yourself. And being courageous.
But every now and then, I like to make sure you’re actually a human being. Because based on the comments on my site, I’m not always so sure… 🙂 I’d even like to make you smile.
So in this post, I’m reaching out to everyone with some light relief. It’s Friday after all!
Why I wish my WordPress Spammers were… Real
I enjoy writing – and I’m passionate about the impact of effective deliberate leadership – so I’m not only writing in the hope that you, my favourite reader, will actually like and find value in it. I mean, that’s important, but I’m not doing it for the feedback. And I’m not doing it for people to pay me compliments or think I’m clever.
But then Healthcare Related Articles reaches out to me from across the internet and says…
“This post is priceless. How can I find out more?”
Oh Healthcare Related Articles how I wish that you were real… All I need to do is click ‘approve comment’ and all my readers can see how much you appreciate me and my insights. Along with the link to your dodgy-website-I’m-too-afraid-to-click-on for fear of providing my credit card details to a mail-order-bride website. But maybe that’s not so bad for the temporary thrill of an adoring fan…
Luckily, Jack then reminded me:
“You know ѡhat Pastor Јohansson aԁvised us on Sunday is that Ԍod actually likeѕ worѕhip. Daɗdy added.”
I don’t know who Pastor Johansson is, or what place of worship he/she can be found in, but thanks Jack – you saved me from certain embarrassment there!
Then the super-original my blog whispered to me:
“Thanks designed for sharing such a pleasant thought, article is fastidious, thats why i have read it completely”
I’m glad you noticed, my blog, I do care about spelling and grammar… and apostrophes. I hope that in reading my article right to the end you helped my Google Analytics a bit by spending a few extra minutes on the page. I really appreciate that!
Though ChristineATyler-at-wildmaildotcom seems to be suggesting that I should consider pursuing an alternative career…
“Would Turning Into A Freelance Paralegal Be A Good Option For You?”
Well I don’t know, ChristineATyler-at-wildmaildotcom, now you’ve really got me wondering!
Luckily, a few hours later, Ronald A Spinabella pepped my right back up.
“I wish I could write that great of a post, my name is ronald spinabella and I am an seo guru and internet marketer”
Thanks Ronald! Thanks! You’ve made my day, and if I’m in need of SEO or internet marketing services (or a guru, for that matter) I’ll be sure to get in touch! You have a great day!
And then to really make my day, my blog reached out again. This time with a different website for me to visit. Or maybe it’s a different my blog – parents aren’t as original in naming their kids these days… but I digress. And this time, my blog wants to connect directly! I might have made a new friend!
“Remarkable things here. I’m very glad to peer your article. Thank you a lot and I’m having a look ahead to contact you. Will you please drop me a e-mail?”
Wow! The internet is so friendly!
I’m sure there are leadership lessons in here somewhere… Or at least some examples that could grace the updated edition of How to Win Friends and Influence People.
